Problems of trenches

Trench Foot was a big problem with the introduction of trenches. Trench Foot was caused by the wet conditions of the trenches. It could lead to amputation and severe pain. In some cases, soldiers had severe blisters and gangrene. All around the trenches, there were bodies being eaten by rats and lice. Soldiers had one cup per person, which the had to wash their hands and clean their handkerchief in. They used their handkerchief to clean up after the can gone to the bathroom.
